In this episode, you’ll learn about Carolina Huaranca Mendoza, principal at Kapor Capital, a social impact venture fund based in Oakland. Carolina shares with us what she likes the most working for a VC company and her own experience as an entrepreneur.

Kapor Capital is unique in that they have an investment thesis or essentially a mission statement and it is to invest in technologies that are closing gaps of opportunity and access for low-income communities of color and women. So the way you might think about it is if you think about companies that are in education technology serving underserved students or financial tech services that are helping disrupt the pay loan industry those would be things that they’re interested in investing and looking at.
