Ruxandra Guidi

Ruxandra Guidi has been telling nonfiction and news stories for almost two decades. Her reporting for public radio, magazines, and various multimedia and multidisciplinary outlets has taken her throughout the United States, the Caribbean, South and Central America, as well as Mexico and the U.S.-Mexico border region. After earning a Master’s degree in journalism from U.C. Berkeley in 2002, she assisted independent producers The Kitchen Sisters; then worked as a reporter, editor, and producer for NPR’s Latino USA, the BBC daily news program, The World, the CPB-funded Fronteras Desk in San Diego-Tijuana, and KPCC Public Radio’s Immigration and Emerging Communities beat in Los Angeles. Currently, she is the president of the board of Homelands Productions, a journalism nonprofit cooperative founded in 1989, and a contributing editor for the nonprofit magazine High Country News. In 2018, she was awarded the Susan Tifft Fellowship for women in documentary and journalism by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. She teaches journalism full-time at the University of Arizona’s School of Journalism.

LA-based, French-American, Juliette Roy is the founder of Be Your Change media and producer of Be Your Change podcast which amplifies the voices of female change-makers and highlights their impact on creating a more sustainable and inclusive world. For the past 20 years, she’s worked across the globe on major multimedia productions for the European Commission and coveted brands like Altadis, Sofitel and Adidas. After moving to the U.S., she ran the broadcasting department of the online radio and podcast platform, Live365 and was head of business development for Spreaker. She produced Tech Inclusion podcast with a focus on diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.

FAQ

All meals and snacks are provided. Please contact us if you have any dietary restrictions prior to coming to the ranch. The ranch is in an isolated location and we want to make sure we have everything to meet your needs.

The ranch is located about two hours away from Tucson airport and 4 1/2hours away from Phoenix airport.

Car rentals and gas costs are the attendee’s responsibility.

Please let us know the time of your arrival on Wednesday as we would like to help organize carpooling to share costs.

Everything you need to get the most of your experience e.g swimsuits, hiking shoes, a camera, a computer, a writing pad, a yoga mat, running shoes, and a hat.

Lodging: 4 nights accommodation in either twin beds in a shared room or double bed in a single room with a private bathroom or shared bathroom
