Whenever you watch your favorite TV shows, tune in to the radio, or listen to music, there is a high chance that less than 5% of that content has been produced by a woman.
Just take a minute to imagine a world where women are producing at least 50% of all the content. Just imagine the different forms of messaging we would see in the media. Can you even imagine what this world would look like?

My mom, she is an artist… And I think she also wanted me to just, you know, yeah. Create, invent my own world and not just watch TV all day long. So I feel like that’s why she made sure that I was aware of all the different ways I could express myself.
For me, my music is really about giving tributes to where I come from and all those people who made it me possible for me to be here today, you know?
I feel like it’s part of me finding myself because I always had this feeling about not really belonging anywhere, being like, in the middle. I feel like now that I found the Kora, or the Kora found me, I feel like I’m playing this instrument, I’m kind of bringing back my true culture in a really organic way and I’m really thankful for that.
